Samadhi is derived from the Sanskrit, sama, meaning “together,” and dhi, meaning “mind.” Its most basic definition implies a complete state of concentration, but the spiritual significance of samadhi is much more profound and difficult to convey with words. It cannot be “explained”, it must be experienced. Simply stated, samadhi is the mind’s ultimate state of being; it is enlightenment.
Some of the best series of movies and guided meditation videos I’ve watched on the topic of self-realization or enlightenment are the Samadhi films by Awaken the World Films on YouTube. In this post I want to share these videos with the hope that they will reach more people.
First, here is the 2 part documentary:
Samadhi – Part 1: “Maya, the Illusion of the Self”
Samadhi Part 2 (It’s Not What You Think)
Here is the accompanying 4 part guided meditation series:
#1: Breath as the Bridge
#2: The Hindrances
#3: Prana
#4: Know Yourself (Nirvikalpa)
