Samadhi – Divine Consciousness

Samadhi is derived from the Sanskrit, sama, meaning “together,” and dhi, meaning “mind.” Its most basic definition implies a complete state of concentration, but the spiritual significance of samadhi is much more profound and difficult to convey with words. It cannot be “explained”, it must be experienced. Simply stated, samadhi is the mind’s ultimate state of being; it is enlightenment.

Some of the best series of movies and guided meditation videos I’ve watched on the topic of self-realization or enlightenment are the Samadhi films by Awaken the World Films on YouTube. In this post I want to share these videos with the hope that they will reach more people.

First, here is the 2 part documentary:

What is Letting Go? How to Surrender

In several of my videos I’ve mentioned the concept of “letting go” or surrender, but I also recognize that it is challenging to describe what that means. Letting go is not a “doing”, as in it’s not something you can ‘do’… rather it’s something that you experience or allow. I’ve done my best to describe how I personally experience Letting Go in this video:

Vipassana – 10 Days of Silent Meditation

I have had several profound, transformational experiences in my life that have been catalysts for significant shifts in my consciousness, including (but not limited to):

  • A rollover car accident in my teens, where I fractured several vertebrae
  • My father’s death due to cancer at a relatively young age
  • The birth of our daughter
  • My first breakthrough DMT experience
  • My first (and only) full release 5MEO experience
  • Vipassana 10 day silent meditation retreat

Of these life events, Vipassana is the most recent. As with almost all of my life-changing experiences, Vipassana was both challenging and liberating. Although it is something one must experience to understand, I’d like to briefly share some of my own observations from this course to potentially provide some insight to others who may be interested in trying it for themselves.

Letting Go – Going Deep: Float Tank ‘Trip Report’

This is an impromptu float tank psilocybin trip report I shot on my phone a few weeks ago … I hadn’t initially planned to make a video on this experience, as I sometimes find it distracts me from fully surrendering if I have it in the back of my mind that I’ll be sharing it (which is why I came to the conclusion I did in this video). However, I did decide to post this, as I do want to share these different realizations on my journey:

How to Meditate – The Benefits of Mindfulness

In a world where we tend to focus so much more on “doing” vs “being”, where our To-Do list keeps growing, and where we often focus more on the future (ie: goals, better days, finishing projects, etc) rather than being present right here and now, meditation offers us stillness and peace of mind.

I now consider meditation to be the foundation of healthy, balanced living. The primary form of meditation I use is Mindfulness Meditation and it has lead to a significant improvement in my quality of life as well as my spiritual awareness. Mindfulness meditation is the practice of purposely focusing your attention on the present moment—and accepting it as it is without judgment.
This video will briefly explain the benefits of mindfulness meditation and will demonstrate how to meditate as well as how you might incorporate meditation and mindfulness into your daily routine, including formal, informal, and intensive meditation practices:
