This past summer I had an unexpected “awakening” experience, which appropriately occurred on my birthday! It seemed to be facilitated by an entheogen (a particularly strong “sacred” strain of psilocybin fungus), the environment / setting (at a cottage surrounded by “nature”, on the water), and my personal state of awareness (I just recently had my 5MEO breakthrough). It certainly caught me off guard!

I would describe this as an experience of “enlightenment”, although within a few days afterwards my distracting thoughts/ego/personality/habits began to edge their way back into my daily experience. Regardless, that incredible awareness will never leave me.
I hesitated to share this, as it felt like more of a deeply personal realization rather than what I would describe as a “trip report”… and as is often the case, it was a challenge to put into words. But I have decided to put myself out there as I evolve on my journey, with the realization that my experiences and my understanding of them will also evolve along the way.
It may sound odd to say this, but the more “awake” I become, the more I realize I know nothing… almost as if the journey IS the knowing. Hard to describe, but I’m sure I’ll find the right words one day.
